How to factory reset a Samsung (Android) tablet

Option 1: Reset from Settings (easiest)

  1. Open the Settings app.

  2. Scroll down and tap General Management.

  3. Select Reset.

  4. Tap Factory Data Reset.

  5. Review the information, then tap ResetDelete All.

  6. The tablet will restart and return to the “Welcome!” screen with the blue Start button.

⚠️ This will erase all apps, settings, and data on the tablet. Make sure nothing important is stored before performing the reset.


Option 2: Reset from Recovery Menu (backup method)

Use this if you can’t access Settings.

  1. Turn off the tablet.

  2. Hold Volume Up + Power until the Samsung logo appears.

  3. Release buttons when the Android Recovery menu shows.

  4. Use Volume Down to highlight Wipe data/factory reset → press Power.

  5. Confirm with Factory data reset.

  6. When finished, choose Reboot system now.

  7. The tablet will restart to the “Welcome!” screen.
